I'm new to plumbing and is replacing the vanity in the bathroom. I try to remove the old P trap, but somehow after removing the nuts, I can't disconnect it. Is the highlighted part disconnectable? I nudged the lower part and try hard to pull it down, but only one side move a bit, maybe the other side is glued?

There is a good chance that the trap has ABS glue on the 2 parts from installation. If so replace it with a new trap.
