Greetings - plz excuse me if my post comes up twice. The first attempt didn't seem to work.
I have a Marlo "C" Series tank-in-tank softener with a Clack WS1 valve. Softener is 10 years old. City water. 21 grain per gallon.
Recently the Marlo quit softening our water. I dumped the old resin and replaced with new. Also disassembled the Clack valve and inspected/cleaned all parts. Put it back together and still not softening our water. So I replaced both O-rings between the valve and distribution tube. Still not softening.
All cycles: backwashes, brine draw, rinse and fill appear to be working normally. I started the brine draw cycle and immediately tasted the discharge water. It was not salty.
Yes, the bypass valve is in "service" not bypass. ; )
Any ideas? What am I missing? I did remove the spacer stack assembly and inspect it. Is it possible to reassemble that incorrectly? Could that be the problem?
Thanks in advance for any advice. Tommy
