I have a 16-year-old Culligan the seal needs to be replaced, It's been a great unit with no issues. The local franchise wants $400 to replace the seal. I think I will buy a new water softener what unit on today's market will give me the most bang for the buck? A new replacement Culligan will cost $4500

DIY?
I suggest looking thru past posts. Try 5800SXT in the search box above.

City water? If so, 10% crosslink resin is important.
