Plumber installed a 1/4 bend in the joist bay below a geberit carrier. The carrier is in a 2x4 wall and the waste elbow makes a 90 after the toilet outlet(back outlet), and heads straight down to the 1/4 bend where the line runs horizontally int he joist space. All the piping is 3 inch. The joists are 2x8, and I suspect a short sweep will not fit. Is there an exception that allows us to use a 1/4 bend to go from vertical to horizontal here?

Alternatively, can I cut down the waste elbow that came with the unit and run the sweep elbow up up into the wall a bit?

Thanks!
