MS874114SG, Need to find replacement tank lid

I found the white screws locally...AFTER I had ordered a new seat online! For anyone who wants to save a BUNCH of money, the white screws are 14-1063, $2.50 per set. I'd still appreciate your ideas on whether the hinge kit would have been a good alternative for the stripped screw problem.

MS874114SG, Need to find replacement tank lid

Someone posted on another forum that their soft close is now slamming shut. They were told to replace the entire seat but someone else said there is a hinge kit that would fix the problem. I wonder if that would also solve my problem of the wiggling seat without buying an entire new one...

MS874114SG, Need to find replacement tank lid

Thank you. That information would be helpful if there was a legible number in either tank. One has part of an S and the other has the tops of a couple of letters. I'll give them a call tomorrow. Is that a photo of Central Park? I'm guessing it's covered by snow right now. We don't have that...

MS874114SG, Need to find replacement tank lid

How do I know whether it's Cotton or Colonial White? Is there a number somewhere on the toilet to indicate color?

MS874114SG, Need to find replacement tank lid

Thank you for the responses and suggestions. You guys are the best! The other toilet had the running issue last year and I put in a Korky Quiet Fill. I plan to do that with this one, too. The model is a1.6 Gpf, white (cotton?) with SanaGlo. We have the elongated soft-close seats. If the...

MS874114SG, Need to find replacement tank lid

My TOTO Carlyle CST874 (MS874114SG) wouldn't stop running so I lifted the lid and then bent down to shut off the water at the wall. I knocked off the lid and it shattered. What's the best place to buy a replacement? Online? Nearest plumbing supply (none local)? I also need to replace one of...

Toto won't stop filling. How do I determine the model?

Thanks Jim. It has the screw showing, so not a Korky. Is there a schematic showing the part names so I know what I'm referring to? Fill cap, fill valve, etc.

Toto won't stop filling. How do I determine the model?

I found CST874 inside the tank. I think that makes it a Carlyle?

Toto won't stop filling. How do I determine the model?

Toilet is 3 years old. I don't see a model number or name. It may be a Carlyle. Last night the fill continued to run. I turned off the water at the wall, and would like to make the repair myself. My late husband was a Mr. Fix-it, so I never learned to do these things. Once I know the...

2 simple questions about my Toto

Thanks, all. One last thing. When I looked in the tank for model information, I noticed the water isn't really clear. Can/should I do anything about cleaning out the tank?

2 simple questions about my Toto

Under the tank lid it says G-MAX Cyclone Flushing. The water comes in vertically in several places. The toilets were installed while the house was undergoing renovation and I believe tile grout products were flushed down during the process before we moved in. There was a rough ring at the...

2 simple questions about my Toto

Is there a way to temporarily force the water level higher in the bowl? There's a hard water ring above the water level (Sani-Gloss not doing its job?) that I want to soak with vinegar, but the water keeps self-leveling. Before I had a Toto, I would stick a plunger into the bottom to block...

    Removing Tub Enclosure

Finally back online. I probably didn't explain exactly what we're wanting to do. We have a separate shower and tub. DH wants to use the tub as a tub, so needs the sides to remain intact. Just wants to remove the enclosure.

    Removing Tub Enclosure

Hubby is disabled and we will be installing a grab bar on the side of the tub. The track on the bottom could injure him if he drags a foot over it or slips and comes down onto it. It's also easier for him to maneuver if he has the entire length of the tub for getting in and out, rather than the...

    Removing Tub Enclosure

We're moving into a house that has a sliding-door, metal-surround glass tub enclosure attached to the fiberglass tub. Can we have it removed or would we be better off just taking out the whole tub and replacing it without an enclosure? What are the pros and cons of removing it?
