I just installed 2 Toto Drake II toilets in my home and wondered if the Home Depot Septic Tank treatments from ZEP or others will harm the CEFIONTECT coating?

You put it in and flush it. Do not leave it in the bowl.

I use plain Yeast, and some say none of that stuff works.

What kind of Septic Tank treatments is HD selling ?

Kroger is cheaper.

Ha...I understand it needs to be flushed, but the temporary time the treatment is there...I wanted to make sure it wasn't harmful to duragloss. It is made by ZEP, and it is a package of 6 bags. I dont know if it chemically, or from an abrasive standpoint would be bad for the toilet....thought you might know.

This is my first Toto...and want to take care of it well.

That is kind of a strange makeup.

I think You would want to flush it quick a time or two, or maybe run it down the sink.

That stuff may kill roots also. Guess that may be what the acid is about.

I used Rid-X for many years, when it came in liquid I stopped using it.

If you Flush some yeast, it gets the brew cooking, and is safe. But it does make some CO2 gas.

Have Fun.

Don, for what its worth, I've been using that same Zep stuff for years. It is not expensive at all; probably much cheaper than the yeasr I've seen in the supermarket. Zep is 9 bucks or so for 6 bags. One day, I'll do a test with 2 buckets of water with toilet paper and dog poop. One bucket will have the Zep, and the other , not. After a couple of weeks or so, I'll see if I can see or smell any difference. That should be fun? What's with the freezing cursor thing here again???
