Main Shut Off Stripped & Repaired..?

Hi, Thanks for providing help to homeowners. This is first time posting.

Question: Does this Job look like it was completed properly?

-Main Water Shut off wouldn't turn back on.
-After several hours & a trip to get part, I am wondering about the use of the White pipe & the hodgepodge look of this. See photos

Thank you in advance for your expert opinions.

PEX is being used more and more. The repair should work fine. The ball valve will be better than the gate valve that came out.
