Hello, all. New member here. I've been having a problem with the hot water in my shower since we moved in a few years ago. It's an old two handle style faucet with the pull switch on the faucet to toggle between shower and tub. The problem is we can only get hot water by turning the cold side on full blast and just barely turning the hot side, like less than a quarter of an inch. All of the other faucets in the house have hot water with no problems, so I'm wondering if the trouble is just within the shower faucet? Any help is appreciated, as my plumbing knowledge is very limited.

Old as in galvanized piping to the two handle valve? If so, you could be running a very small water supply to the hot side.
However, you mention that you have the cold turned way up and barely any hot. You lacking hot though?
Can you post a picture of the faucet? 800 pixels or less.

It is illogical for you to need a "full flow' of cold water with a tiny flow of hot water to get hot water. Usually it would be the other way around.

Logical? No. My situation? Yes. Clearly something is wrong. I don't know

What you are saying doesn't make any sense. What happens if you turn the hot on more than 1/4 turn? .....I would remove the stems and see if the washer has come loose or something like that. I would try flushing the lines with the stems removed. You may need to replace the stems.
