I have a small bathroom I am remodeling. I got a small vanity that is only 10 inches deep. The problem is, the P trap sticks out past the drain on the vanity. If I turn the P trap to the right or left, it will line up with the drain. The problem is, I would then need to shift the vanity right or left and that would make it off center. I'm not sure what to do. I was thinking of putting an elbow on the drain from the sink which would go to the right and and another elbow down into the P trap. Would that work?

You can use a bend to offset the drain coming out of the wall to the right or left, but not up or down. Posting a photo of the piping might help us help you.

If i read it correctly, your waste arm that goes to the wall is too long. You can shorten it to make the P trap fit the sink drain.

I sometimes use a 45 from the wall to bypass the tailpiece and then swing back to pick it up.
Or worst case, open the wall.
