I am having to replace a very expensive tank conditioner for a commercial building that will have to furnish hot water through a tankless water heater to all of the areas as noted in the subject.line. I receive very hard water through the State Engineer's office, although that may not factor into this discussion.
I purchased a 48K Rheem conditioner and Whole Home filter (replaceable every 2-3 months. I have no usage history to review, as this is a new business. I figure if I have to add salt to the one Rheem more often than weekly, I can connect another Rheem at the same capacity.
My questions are:
1. How often should I check and recharge the Rheem? I figure at first, weekly - then be guided by the drop of salt in the tank, but am unclear on how often to prevent damage.
2. How many 40 lb. bags of salt to add to start the new Rheem?
3. How often should I add RHWSC Water Softener Cleaner to the Rheem. The instructions say you clean every 4 months, but I am not sure with the use of more water destinations for this conditioner if it needs to be more often. How do I judge?
4. Is this a safe method of conditioning that protects my tankless M-120 Titan?
Any advice you can offer would be greatly appreciated! Thank you so much for your time and effort.
