1. Partially closing the stop valve at the wall will reduce water hammer

2. They make water hammer arrestors that go between the stop valve and the flex supply line. https://www.supplyhouse.com/Oatey-3...Female-Compression-Copper-Tee-Hammer-Arrestor

3. There are different opinions on whether the Korky 528 QuietFill fill valve will be quieter.
We didn't even have to replace the fill valve, the noise stopped as mysteriously as it started. Thanks for the suggestions!

The Korky fill valves with the blue and the gray caps will work for the Aquia toilet.
I want to thank you for your site. We purchased the Toto because of all the research that you provided and have been happy with it for over 15 years.

UGH, the water hammer started again. I guess we'll have to change the fill valve, although the one currently in the toilet looks just like the Korky blue and grey.

Bringing this one back to life.....I installed Two Toto Eco Ultra Max toilets...one hammers one does not. The toilets are on the same side of the house, one in the master bath, one in the hall bath. The one in the master bath hammers LIKE CRAZY, the one in the hall bath does not. What is the best course of action? Arrestor or changing the valve? I am reluctant to change the valve, as I want the toilet to operate as designed. Thanks.
