Hey all. Installed a kohler gleam full apron and having an issue.

Because of bulky trim behind the toilet, a 10” conversion kit was used.

After filling the toilet for the first time, prior to flushing, I noticed it sounded like it was draining continuously. No noticeable water movement in the bowl.

I drained and pulled the toilet. No water anywhere. Reset the toilet and it did the same thing.

It’s back to back with another toilet that has no issues.

Any ideas?

1. With the sound occuring, look at the level of the water in the tank. How does that compare to the overflow level? The level should be about 1/2 inch lower than the overflow.
2. Turn off the supply stop valve at the wall. Does the sound stop?
3. Leave the stop off. What happens to the level of the water with time. Does the level fall? If so, how far?

Thanks for the response!

1. It was a little high so I lowered it
2. Sound does not stop with supply off
3. The level doesn’t seem to fall

It’s very strange. Initially it sounded like it was leaking into the drain constantly so I pulled the toilet. After resetting it, I still get the sound but only for 4-5 seconds after every flush. It flushes, fills, water shuts off, then I hear water trickling into the drain for 4-5 seconds.

No issues flushing but it’s an odd sound that I’d like to pinpoint.

Normal. The toilet has a weir (internal dam), but it takes a while for the level to settle.

Your new toilet has a plastic part below the weir, and it does not block the sound as much as the old all-china toilet did. You will get used to the sound.
