Doesn't matter either way for as wear guess it all depends on cost of valves and other materials.

Life? I think you are thinking of reliability. It would give some redundancy. It implies electric, so you may need upgraded electrical service for a whole house tankless, and maybe for the distributed tanklesses (spelling??).
In Florida, with electric you might consider a hybrid WH. Takes more space, but may save electricity. Depends on how often you uses hot water. Tankless is efficient for infrequent use, because it has no standby losses. But hybrid uses a heat pump to get much greater efficiency of producing hot water, and a Florida bonus is that it cools and dries the area.
