Hi
Upstairs shower leaking into living room, took off the drain cover in the shower and unscrewed the sleeve. There’s a crack in the drain, likely there since install.
Hoping to replace the bathroom in a few years anyway. Will some well positioned sealant stop the leak? The sleeve screws down past the crack anyway. The rubber ring is in good shape although not in photo.

The drain threads into the drain pipe that like a funnel and if it can be threaded past the crack it should buy you time. If it does past the crack there may be more cracks further down. It also could be the drain cannot be tighten down enough to pull up on the pipe to get a good seal from the washer. Water could be working under the flange. Use stainless plumbers putty instead.
