Scratches on TOTO bidet lid by installer

My contractor scratched my new TOTO S7 washlet lid. Has anyone found a solution to removing the scratches?

I burnt a tub with solder one time and light sanding worked to make it invisible from most angles. If I would have kept going all of the way to a polish I'm sure it would have been better.
