Would like some of you guys to give me your opinion for a bathroom heater. The current sysytem is a 240VAC, single phase, 1.5k Watt, Dayton wall heater with an external thermostat. The heater is in a bathroom, maybe 80 sq ft, at my cottage in Northern Michigan. This heater runs all winter, with thermostat set at 49 degrees. All of my plumbing is drained back to the bathroom, so this is the only room in the cottage that is heated during the fall and winter months.
The Heater is Dayton 2E435 and is probably pushing 50 years old. I have replaced the heating element and fan motor, but it has been probably 10 years now. GREAT HEATER, never had a single problem with it, but parts are no longer available. So, do I put in a new model of Dayton wall heater or would a electric baseboard heater be worth looking into? Or maybe something else??

With a baseboard wouldn't have to worry about the fan motor going out. 1500 watt is 5115 btu's. Might find another wall heater that would fit in the same hole.

That is kinda what I was thinking, less moving parts. I can get a new Dayton heater to fit the same space, but wall units can be expensive. Thanks for your input!

In warm so ca those heaters were popular in the 50s. Ive never seen one installed new in my short 37 years here though.
I see a new in box unit for 350 on ebay dayton same model number or probebly cheaper go baseboard 1500 watts is 1500 watts take your pick and take your chances on quality . Patching needed on the wall and installation probebly worth a few dollars.

Not sure if this is an option for you, but there's a brand new, open box one on Ebay currently:

The unit you saw on Ebay is the exact same unit I currently have! I think I'm going to buy this unit. They just don't make heaters like this anymore, and purchasing the exact same model, I will have some spare parts.
