Hi,
We have a 2 inch cast iron drain pipe rough-in in our concrete basement floor. Picture included. It was installed by the builder's plumber when the house was built.
This drain was used for many years with a shower installed over it. No issues. We're upgrading to a tub/shower combo.
(1) My first question is that the drain can be moved a little bit. Are they made that way or is something broken? I can imagine they are made that way so that you have some wiggle room?
(2) Is there a p-trap for this drain under the floor?
I think the answer to #2 is "yes" and here's why. We would never have any septic smell from this shower unless it went unused for a long time. I would just run the shower water for a minute and the smell would go away. Also, now I have poured water into this drain and it doesn't drain completely away - you can see some standing water down in the drain. And yes it needs some clean up! There is a rubber donut installed for 2
inch PVC to be inserted.
