I am planning on putting a bathroom in my basement. Since the plumbing will be below grade, I am planning on using a macerating toilet.

I just stumbled on the below discussion, which seems to indicate that a very large number of DFUs must be assigned to a macerating toilet (minimum of 28.4, more likely too be 34ish).

Is this true? If so, doesn't that eliminate macerating toilets as an option for most people, unless they make major changes to their existing plumbing?

Thanks for the help!
