This is a smart toilet, from Ove in Laval Quebec Canada. Sold at Costco, Menards,

We like the commode, with built-in bidet, for these days of t.p. shortages.

We're on a well, we filter (string filter) and then soften. But, at first occasionally and now all the time, tank won't refill after a flush. If I go in and jiggle the piece on the left, it will refill. This is all plastic, and I'm wondering if the water has made the plastic no long slide and move appropriately.

The left piece is about 10" tall. The right piece, which I believe is the flushing mechanism, is about 8" tall.

will generic aftermarket replacements work or must I buy the parts from Ove.

Any help is appreciated. Right now, we're flushing from a bucket filled in the bathtub.

So would a common fill valve work there?

I went to https://www.korky.com/toilet-genius to see if they had info for that toilet, but that is not working. The site is up, but the finder is not working. Looks to me like the Korky 528MP would fit, but I am not sure. https://www.korky.com/products/fill-valve-replacements/quietfill-platinum-fill-valve Does the OVE have a different size hole in the bottom of the tank? I don't know, and that is a big part of the question that you are asking.

When you replace a fill valve, you usually replace the flex supply connector. When you replace that, you consider whether the stop valve needs replacing too.

Built-in bidet sounds nice.

The manufacturer is sending parts under warranty. They arrive tomorrow. It should be a fairly easy job, and I'll save the old parts, examine the fill valve, and try to figure out why it started failing. My best guess is water deposits. I'll also keep them so I have something to show when I shop for 3rd party replacement. This will confirm the hole size, height, etc.

Not sure what it is about toilet tank mechanisms, but their prone to fail, and because we non plumbers don't see them day to day, they're a bit of a mystery crammed into a tight space.

Thank you. It comes in handy.
