I'm installing a Sterling Vikrell 60x32 Ensemble tub with an honeycomb type pattern on the bottom. Instructions are to install it with provided clips. I poured self leveling compound and have the entire area nearly level (within a couple millimeters over the whole area).
The instructions say that a mortar bed is optional, but I like a solid feeling tub and my kids are hard on things. I was planning to do piles thanks to this forum, but I'm worried about the cement squishing and moving like it should with the honeycombing on the bottom. I'd have a preference to put down plastic over and under the mortar just in case, but again, same concern.
I've read tons of mortar bed posts, but I have yet to see any addressing the honeycomb with level floor
An I overthinking this or missing something. Any ideas or advice would be appreciated.
