Awesome forum. It's always very helpful.

I'm helping out a neighbor with a minor kitchen refresh. They're looking to install a farmhouse sink. The existing drain is too high. Sink is on a 2x4 exterior wall, under window.

We removed the drywall to get a better look. The existing drain goes through cripple and king studs.

How do you suggest we go lowering drain?

Should we notch cripple, drill a new hole through 2x4 king stud? Try to menouver new vent in place?

I'm not sure how. The stud spacing at sink drain is 12 3/8". Sink drain to wye, around 13 3/4". Not wide enough" to place new 1.5 pipe.

Or route new vent outside the house (exterior wall) to bypass king stud?

Drain/vent is in the dishwasher space.

I'll try to stage sink so you get a better view.

Thanks in advance.
Joe
