1.5cuft softener with Clack WS1 valve. Water pressure drops substantially when going through the softener. So much so that using more than one fixture results in the water exiting the fixture to almost dribble out. When the softener is in bypass mode the pressure is quite a bit higher and fine when using multiple fixtures.

Resin was replaced about 3.5 years ago with Aldex C-800 . Water source is from a well. Could the resin have gone bad already or could there be something else causing the low pressure through the softener?

Typically, 95%+ of the time is due to a Resin issue.

Resin will degrade most rapidly when constantly exposed to an oxidizer such as chlorine. Is there an oxidizer utilized in your well system such as for treating an iron, manganese or hydrogen sulfide issue, or for sanitizing the water due to a bacteria problem?

When the resin was last replaced, was bedding gravel also installed as recommended?

The only other thing in the system is a PH neutralizer before the softener and flow through that is fine.

Resin was replaced about 3.5 years ago and new bedding gravel was also put in.

If you have city water, that new resin should have been ALDEX C-800x10 instead of ALDEX C-800.
