Hello all, this is my first post although I have done lots of reading and found so much content super valuable. We just installed the NPE-240A2 we picked up from Ferguson here in Phx, AZ. I've watched video on Youtube as to how to adjust dip switch 2 and get into the installer's sub-menu and set P17, etc. However, the newest model appears to have a new digital display and the location of the switches is not the same as before. (Before they were above the display behind a little black, removable plastic plate.) Does anyone know:

- Where the dips switches are on latest model? And,
= Whether you still have to set dip switches and/or program bypass install -- as some video out there suggests that maybe not?

For reference, we do not have a full length, dedicated return line. However, we did install a loop at the unit and we are using the recirculation port (and we have a check valve on the cold water input port). We also installed NaviCirc at the furthest faucet, set the dial in the unit to 6 'o'clock -- Ext circulation when prompted in startup, said we did not have an external pump attached, and are now running "Intelligent" for the first week.

Thank you, Pat

I believe everything is set via the display on startup. No more dip switches.
Navien shows do not pipe to the return port, just follow their piping instructions.
And do not set the dial to EXT. Plus you must add an expansion tank or exp device.

Thank you very much for the reply and diagram, Breplum. I have to be honest, this is frustrating. Just poor information from Navien -- confusing, and doesn't mesh with the main manual or the NaviCirc manual. These pictures that I have attached below are straight from the NaviCirc manual included in the box with the piece. If we didn't even need the recirc port, our install would have been a heckuva lot easier and we wouldn't have burned through leaking valves and had to put a copper union in, etc. (Btw -- the bucket is because I haven't finished installing a slop sink below the unit.

IDK -- one additional question I guess I have is how does the unit know I have NaviCirc installed if I was never prompted to tell it in startup, and there are no dip switches?

I agree with everything @Breplum said except, I would set the 2-way valve to external. Otherwise you would mostly be recirculating internally due to the path of least resistance.

There are no dip switches to mess with, it's all done through the menu.
