I have a Navien NPE-180A2 tankless and a Navircic valve under master bathroom sink.
Our master bath shower has a Moen positemp shower valve.
My wife likes really hot showers and normally has the shower temperature maxed out. I typically back off the temperature a little bit using the shower valve.
Nothing has changed since the whole system was installed a year and a half ago but lately the hot water is not as hot as it used to be.
I flushed the tankless after a year in operation did all the recommended service on filters.
Recently, my wife started complaining the temperature isn't as hot as normal and I've also noticed a difference because I can now max out the valve to the hottest temperature.
We have another shower where the temperature is normal.
I have a sink right next to the tankless and the hot water temperature coming out of the sink faucet matches the NAVIEN temperature setting 122F. Would that indicate the circulation valve in the unit is not the cause?
My first thought was that it was the Moen positemp valve so I replaced it with a new one.
That didn't change anything. I also flushed out the valve housing with the positemp valve removed.
I've also checked the check valve in the NAVIEN unit and it appears to be okay. I do have new replacements on hand just in case just in case.
So now, I'm suspecting it may be the Navicirc valve under the master bedroom sink.
I was going to disconnect it but before I disturb the fittings I'm wondering would the following work.
Instead of disconnecting, I should be able to just turn off the service valves on the sink which should effectively take the navicirc valve out of play. I would also set the manual valve in the unit back to internal and change the menu setting to internal.
Does that sound like that would work?
Also, has anyone ever disassembled the navi Cirque valve clean it and could that be a possible cause?
Any other thoughts on what I can try before calling in the cavalry?
