I’m wondering if anybody has experience with laminate flooring on stairs. How well does it hold up? Should I be worried about the nosing getting broken? Is it too slippery? Just trying to weigh my options before going through with it.

Nothing magical here. It now becomes gluing the laminate in place rather than have it floating.

Same with the nosing: Vinyl, wood, metal.

Considering the huge range of laminates available, wear and slipperiness are something you need to consider at the place of purchase. I've installed extremely slippery and non-slip surface laminates.

I have never installed any on stairs but on many doorways, I haven't seen any signs of wear for any grade of laminate.
