    Hello,

We purchased a 1966 built condo recently and got a Culligan softener and RO system installed due to the extremely hard water in Morristown NJ.

After the installation we had an issue where a toilet flush or running dishwasher or running washing machine caused loud vibrations in the shower line while the shower was running.

A technician visit to check on the softner system resulted in them saying that the PRV is broken. They installed a like to like replacement WATTS LF25 AUBZ3 PRV saying that the pressure is too high at 90-100 in our pipes and the softener unit can take upto 80.
The PRV is set to 75 as of now.

The new form of this problem we now have is also in the shower - but a vibration in the pipes at a certain mix of hot and cold water. The toilet flush doesn't lead to vibrations now!

The culligan team claims that our shower valve is faulty. Really at my wits end here and tired of dealing with this.

    What do you experts think?

Sounds like you have undersized pex in the house... common issue with longer runs of undersized pex. High pressure can hide the problem, but UPC code says your plumbing must not exceed 80 PSI.

Hi - the culligan softener is installed with their usual PEX pipes and our home has copper pipes. How do we get the right PEX sizing?
