best water supply hose for dishwasher? how to select length?

What is the best brand for a water supply hose for a dishwasher? They come in different sizes, so how do I know which size is best for my application?

I like the pre-made stainless steel braided hoses. Some new dishwashers have 7/8 garden hose thread connectors that we use a special adapter elbow to reduce to 3/8"

I like to have one that is long enough to install and test for leaks before installing the DW in its cabinet.
