We seem to have the Hard Water from Hell.

Chrome plate over pot metal turns to mush.

The brass parts all turn green [presumably from the copper within them disintegrating].

Even the stainless gets this weird calcification which looks like a coral reef is trying to grow on it.

I'm dreaming of an industrial-strength marine-grade petroleum-based grease, like what they might use to lube up the propeller blades on an ocean-going container vessel or an oil tanker.

And on the automotive side of things, you can certainly prep your threads with an Anti-Seize lubricant.

Although I'm confident the state of California wouldn't be too thrilled if you were to introduce those kinds of compounds into a drinking water situation.

But is there is a "best of class" product out there which could at least help to preserve some of the functionality of the threaded parts for a few more years than would otherwise be the case?

And can you do maintenance on the threaded parts somehow? Anything you could spray on them maybe once per year?

Thanks for any suggestions!!!

I was given a couple aerosol cans of corrosion inhibitor by the contractor who built our church since I was the maintenance director. I used one of these products a few times and it left a sticky waxy type coating. I do not know which exact product because right now I cannot call my replacement to look at it. This is good stuff and it should 1-5 years. Not cheap!
