Bathroom sink Moen drain leaking

Hello.
I purchased the wynford collection faucet which come with the drain assembly for a the bathroom sink. It leaks, not at the sink, but at the tee and drain tube. I called Moen, they sent a replacement. I received the replacement drain from Moen and both drains leaks at the same place. They leak at the tee and the drain tube.

Any ideas

Unscrew the tube, put some pipe joint compound (pipe dope) on the threads and screw it back in.
