Fellas!

I have a leaky shower (possible American Standard) with some worn out handles so I'm looking to replace the handles, stems, seats, etc.

I think I need the 405513 or 404305 kit for this from my research, but I'm not sure.

Can anyone confirm what style this is and what handle kits are available to fix up this shower? Home is from 1971. I also fear removing the stems may be difficult. Perhaps I should see if they'll even come out first.

Thanks!

Remove the hex shape bushing then pull the stem straight out. The Aquaseal and Renu stems are interchangeable. Replace the seat while you have it apart.

Thanks for the reply. So Aquaseal or Renu kits will work here? Now I have search terms to use while shopping which helps a lot.

I got the bushing off the diverter yesterday and as expected, she's quite stuck in there. It's soaking in vinegar while I cobble up a puller. I have a slide hammer but intense care needs to be practiced with that.

I haven't tried the hot and cold stems yet. I'm hoping they are easier being so small/shallow.

The kits I was looking at include the seats so it will be a complete replacement of all the parts.

Thanks again!

So I have been able to remove the hot and cold stems but the diverter is ON there. I'm still working on that but here's a picture of the other stem.

Any pointers on removing the stuck diverter?

Is there a preferred place on here to buy the kit for this shower?

Thanks!

I finally got the diverter stem out. See pic for what worked.

After having the stem in my hand I think the correct kit for me is the Kissler RBK4110. Is this brand any good? Is there a better set from another more reputable supplier?

Thanks, all!
