1” pipe to 3/4” at water softener?

Took another look at the pipes at the water softener loop since I’m replacing my softener with a Fleck based unit - I just realized whoever put in the original dropped from 1” to 3/4” going into the softener and returns to 1” back out into the house. I understand you want to do this at the end points to drive pressure up, but why so at this spot? Think I should repipe to 1” since the fleck can handle it?

I understand you want to do this at the end points to drive pressure up, but why so at this spot? Think I should repipe to 1” since the fleck can handle it?
The old softener was probably a 3/4 inch softener.
