Freestanding bathtub not flat on bottom

The tub was purchased at an auction so I am betting there isn't a warranty. I'll double check that and likely go the thinset route, maybe adding a border of liquid nails to help prevent things from sliding. Thanks for the advice.

Freestanding bathtub not flat on bottom

We are in the process of installing a DXV Freestanding bathtub. The instructions say to apply a 3/8" bead of Liquid Nails to the bottom of the tub to adhere it to the floor. The tub is not yet glued down. It feels a little rocky. The floor is flat but if I push down on one side, the other side...

    Free Standing Bathtub Drain Angle

Unable to lengthen the tub shoe arm to push the overflow vertical. The outside of the tub is in the way. I'll go with the horizontal 22.5 degree fittings unless I hear something different. Thanks.

    Free Standing Bathtub Drain Angle

We are installing a free standing tub. The overflow is in a cavity of the tub behind an access panel. The angle of the wall of the tub causes the overflow to not be vertical. This causes the trap arm to slope upwards. See the attached diagram. I see a couple options: 1. Place a couple 22.5...

Distance from well to septic system

Not sure if this is the right forum to post this question. We have a small piece of property in Pennsylvania. It has what we are told is a cesspool for septic. The well is right next to it. We are interested in having a septic system with a drain field and a new well put in. I am wondering how...

    Old well full of dirt

The orifice was sprayed out with a garden hose. The tank is precharged to 20 psi. The casing of the well is 6” OD. The pipes appear to be 1” and 1.25”. We have hit a bit of a snag. The pump is an older Myers HC-50. While it was turned on, one of the plastic fittings that go into the pump burst...

    Old well full of dirt

I dug down ~36” and found the well. Pulled the pipes up and it is 38’ deep. The rusty water mark on the pipes is at 26’. I cleaned the foot valve and the ejector (the thing above the foot valve that splits it into two pipes, not sure if my terminology is correct). Pressure is at 54 psi with the...

    Old well full of dirt

Thanks for the reply. Do you know any tricks or have any advice for locating where the lines go? The lot is only a half acre and I don’t see anything else that resembles a well. Maybe I’ll try digging down a little farther and see if there are any 90’s on the pipes. That would give us an idea...

    Old well full of dirt

I recently bought a property that has an older well on it. I don’t have a lot of information on the age or depth. The neighbor’s well is 16’ so I would guess mine is similar depth. Probably ~40 years old. We were able to get the existing jet pump to work. The water was clear but the flow is...

    Broken Toilet Flange

We have some new and exciting information. I called a reputable plumber. He took a look and told me it was thin wall pipe (schedule 30) and sometimes that can have an ID slightly smaller than 3”. There is definitely not an inside flange already there. I can’t find any specs for 3” schedule 30...

    Broken Toilet Flange

There wasn’t much plastic around the hole. On the right side the broken part dipped down into the hole a small amount. I didn’t want to risk a leak. I’ve already used an inside cutter to remove the rest of the flange.

    Broken Toilet Flange

Jadnashua nailed it. There is probably already an existing inside fit flange. The ID is around 2.9”. However, the OD is around 3.7”. Guessing there has been multiple flanges on it, one inside and one outside. Looks like I’ll be replacing some pipe. Thanks for all the suggestions.

    Broken Toilet Flange

Thanks for the idea. Not bottoming out on the 90. I can’t even get the gasket/flange into the pipe. It is almost like the pipe is a slightly smaller diameter. I did check the flange on a piece of scrap 3” pvc pipe and it slid in fine. Any ideas?

    Broken Toilet Flange

I went with the Push Tite Gasketed Closet Flange in the first picture that Terry posted. It seems like it should work. However, I can’t get it to slide into the pipe. Lots of dish soap isn’t helping. Any ideas?

    Broken Toilet Flange

That’s a good point. I’ll pick one up and see if it will fit up to the toilet. Thanks for the help.

    Broken Toilet Flange

Thanks for the responses. The pipe is 3”. It seems like the Push Tite flange that fits that really reduces the pipe size a lot. Is that something I should be concerned about?

    Broken Toilet Flange

My toilet flange is broken. I noticed the toilet was loose and it looks like both of the notches where the bolts go are broken. See attached picture. Is there enough flange left to use a stainless steel repair ring? There is also a picture with the repair ring in place. Thanks in advance.
