    Water test result

Thanks for the reply. I've got a 200 ft drilled well, never a problem supplying water in the 26 years I've lived here. The only treatment is a whole-house 5 micron sediment filter, which I change every 3 months. Casing sits about 2 feet above ground level; has a "sani-cap" cover. Now that...

    Well Bacteria fix

It would be *really* helpful if you would do a bacteria (coliform, E. coli) test on your water without using your copper/stainless system. Then do another test after using your system. It may be killing iron bacteria, but we don't know if it's actually killing the bacteria which cause illness...

    Water test result

My most recent water test (state university lab) shows: Coliform: present E. Coli: not present Chloride 2.4 mg/L Nitrite <.2 Nitrate <.2 Sulfate 16 mg/L pH 8.1 Total Hardness 63 mg/L The lab does not give a coliform "count" - just gives a Present or Not Present. I had the same result last...

    What UV system?

Thanks very much for the recommendations. Is there a formula or table somewhere to help me figure the size (length, wattage, etc.) I'd need for my UV treatment need? Under sink installation, 1.5 gpm cold water flow, etc.? I've already got a whole house 5 micron filter. Thanks. Tom M.

    What UV system?

Thanks gentlemen. I'd read about the UV and DNA scrambling, but still don't really understand the implication. If the DNA is scrambled, and the bacteria won't reproduce, doesn't that protect another organism from infection? (such as developing a bacterial infection). It would seem that if...

    What UV system?

Merry Christmas to all! I'd appreciate your thoughts on my question about adding an undercounter UV system. I have a 200 foot well, drilled in 1979. Latest water quality test result by Univ. of Connecticut shows E. coli not present; total coliform Present. Additional results: Chloride 2.4...
