Is there any excuse for a heatpump not keeping up other than improper sizing?

Wow! More new developments... One of my requests weeks ago to the 2nd 3rd party GEO expert was to make sure my thermostat was on the up and up.. meaning when it says its 75 is it really 75 in the room. He assured me that he would bring in some equipment to measure the room temp way more...

Is there any excuse for a heatpump not keeping up other than improper sizing?

<quote>RE' that reply that the HOMEOWNER had to request a heat analysis. The installer is the EXPERT and as such MUST override the customer and provide the PROPER Sized equipment, or refuse the job.</quote> Surely you jest.. shouldn't we say the Installer should be the expert and sometimes they...

Is there any excuse for a heatpump not keeping up other than improper sizing?

and what makes it so bad is that most have straight 5 on review.. Mine did.. means nothing.. First the reveiw is done by a homeowner who has no idea if they did a good job or not or even if they changed the right part. but if they do shotgun it and fix it.. then the poor homeowner says wonderful...

Is there any excuse for a heatpump not keeping up other than improper sizing?

Thanks.. sounds very technical but certainly sounds reasonable but since my system was never designed there is no way to know at what point it would need to run 24x7... since no manual j nor manual d was ever done.. so no design no idea if it designed itself for 77 or not.. LOL. Finally after...

Is there any excuse for a heatpump not keeping up other than improper sizing?

Are you saying that sized properly and basically a tight system it should not run 24x7 as i have been having a problem getting many folks to agree with me. For most folks it seems feel it is ok to run 24x7 as long as it can hold the temp in reason... Course 24x7 means no electric savings and...

Is there any excuse for a heatpump not keeping up other than improper sizing?

Humidifier stuck on????? What do i have a humidifier.. never heard of that? What can i check to see? Not sure what the humidity is.. but must be high as you said.. I would ask my contractor to bring a humidity monitor or one of his 3rd party GEO expeerts but like NO manual J or NO manual D...

Is there any excuse for a heatpump not keeping up other than improper sizing?

I am pretty sure what he meant is that he knew i was wanting a dual stage and i have not found any 1/2 ton in the geo 2 stage category... Especially in my chosen model Trane or Bosch. So yes there are plenty of 1/2 stage in the single stage version but kinda makes sense as when you get a 2 ton...

Is there any excuse for a heatpump not keeping up other than improper sizing?

Not absolutely sure what the 30 year upstairs FHP was but pretty sure the tech crossed the numbers and gave me what he thought those units were..and he installed 2 ton Trane up and 3 ton Trane down.. both GEO..but the 2 ton up and 3 ton down was using real FREON.. not make believe.. so doesn't...

Is there any excuse for a heatpump not keeping up other than improper sizing?

Ducting looks good and is all brand new.. i have not noticed any breaks... but there could be some and its all new mastic not duct tape.. so looks to be sealed really good.. intake is pretty long but i know its not supposed to be straight or very super short due to noise and vibration will take...

Is there any excuse for a heatpump not keeping up other than improper sizing?

Yes the air handler is in the attic the compressor is in the garage.. and hoping to get the Trane Rep to look soon and see what he recommends.. my guess is a pressure test of the room will be very expensive.. so will hold that to the end.. but plan to take some streamers (or maybe toilet paper)...

Is there any excuse for a heatpump not keeping up other than improper sizing?

not 5 gallons but 10 gallons... i am not sure we think of condensate as gallons per day but i never dreamed that a steady drip from condensate 24x7 would equate to 5 gallons per day and 5 gallons per night 10 gallons in 24 hours... but it sure does... and we all know that on a hot day condensate...

Is there any excuse for a heatpump not keeping up other than improper sizing?

I talked to Trane yesterday they said for them to send a rep i had to make a formal complaint before they could investigate.. So i went back and give the installer an ultimatum .. to go get the Trane Rep and and they both come out together or i get the Trane rep without them. and DONOT...

Is there any excuse for a heatpump not keeping up other than improper sizing?

So far the contractor who did the install has called in 2 other 3rd party Water to Air so called specialists... and neither one have been able to solve the problem... So far they all think you measure the water flow with temp drop. So that should tell you something about the quality of tech...

Do we have any warranty experts.. on board?

Question: When a tech comes in and smartly voids your warranty does it void just the item the tampered with or does that void the entire system warranty.. My guess is entire warranty as the mfg can now say that unauthorized repairs have been made and it could afffect the entire system.. and true...
