We have a pedestal sink that we are trying to replace with a vanity. Had a plumber in and he thought it wasn't a difficult job and he wouldn't need to open the wall to remove the P trap, but given the lack of competence that he later demonstrated on another vanity install (didn't have bubble level or stud finder, put in accordion tailpiece extension, didn't caulk behind sink and had to be forced to caulk sink to cabinet) I would really appreciate some feedback on what kind of a trap it could be and how it could be removed from the wall drain connection.
