I'm looking to install a water softener in my home that's a new construction purchased this year. I plan to install the water softener in the garage and it doesn't have a drain line. I am unable to drain it from the water heater drain line as it just runs out the side of the house straight into the grass. The best idea I have right now other than hiring a plumber to connect into the sewer main on the side of the house is to run the discharge up the attic into the utility room which is about 5 feet up, 5-10 feet across, then down and connect it to the washing machine standpipe. However upon inspection I realized that the AC condensation line also drips into the washing machine. My original idea was to install both discharges with a air gap fitting but I am not sure if that is still possible. Here are some images if that helps. Any insight would be appreciated, thank you!

My original plan was to have something similar to this 1st image but I believe the condensation line would be in the way. So it would go up the attic then back down into the utility room outlet box. The other image is when the house was being built before drywall was put up. No additions have been made so it should look exactly like that in the wall granted the ac wasn't installed prior to the picture being taken. Would you recommend the same thing? Just install another standpipe outlet next to the existing one?
