*sigh*

I just installed two new Tota emax toilets in two apartments, back to back (a percentage of you already know the problem) and though installation went perfectly this morning, the water spot in apartment #2 is gone.

The cause is obvious, hidden behind the walls, perhaps to save $2 someone installed a Y instead of a Sanitary Y so the rapid flush of the emax floods the other half of the Y and when it drops it sucks some of the water out of the other toilet. Unacceptable. I knew it was possible but also knew that the plumbing was done by a professional and was not that old and assumed...........

The answer in this case is simple since I would have a horrid time, if not impossible, ripping out the Y and replacing it with a Sanitary Y. The answer is to rip out the Totos and replace it with less efficient, slower dropping toilets.

Thus the question:

Faced with this nasty situation, would you please make recommendations of toilets that would be good to use as replacements.

Ouch!

Thanks

If you mean replace these 2 Toto toilets with old 3.5 gpf toilets, they will not pass inspection. Low flow toilets have be the law of the land for about 20 years. You're looking for an easy answer, but sad to say, there is none. Hire a contractor to open the wall, redo the plumbing and be done with it. Yes, it will cost you some $$, but you will forever glad you did it and the money will soon be forgotten.

All of the newer toilets with 3" flush valves move water much quicker then before.
You would want to look at something with a 2"
