Have a Zoeller submersible vertical float sump pump that just recently started misbehaving after 8 years. The water level is not triggering the float switch. If I softly push it down or softly lift the arm up it fires. It takes very little upward or downward pressure to engage it. Just have to touch it. Makes me thing the switch may just be dirty. Easy disassemble and clean?

Also, if need to replace I would like to stick with same model and specs. Problem is that the metal tag on top with model and specs is too corroded from water to read. Are there markings elsewhere that might indicate model?

If I have to replace I want to stick with Zoeller since this one has been flawless for 8 years or more. Are the new ones as good as the old ones - or any models to stay away from?

Many thanks!
