I am repiping the drain for my lav, back to the stack. The stack is CI, with a 2" san tee. From the bell of the san tee, is a brass ferrule (I melted the lead off of it.) I'll be using a no-hub reducing coupling to join the brass ferrule to the 1 1/2" PVC for the drain.
My question is, can I insert a street 45 into the coupling, or do I have to use a standard 45 and a short section of pipe?
It makes more sense to me to just use the street 45, as it'll be one less connection, but I'd like to know if there is any code or functional reason I shouldn't do this.
Thanks,
Zach
