"It's California, they pretty much do whatever they want there." Perhaps on a sexual level, but certainly not on a plumbing level, no matter tone of the tan you have. Cast iron bushings will crack, but the Chinese seem to run everything through a mallable oven, so it is less of a concern these days. St ells are the first thing to clog on a galvanized water system, but who runs gal these days? Street elbows choke the gas flow a bit, but to a degree that matters?

Bushings, OK, they are no bueno, but can anyone give me a code number that says you can't use st ells on gas? I ask only on a professional curiosity level, I don't have a dog in the fight.
