Have replaced the Moen posi-temp cartridge (m1222b) and shower works fine however when you turn on/off another sink faucet in the same bathroom there is a knocking noise coming from the shower. Anyone know what would be causing this problem? Knocking noise only started after cartridge was replaced. Knocking noise is when you turn on/off either hot or cold in another sink.

It may be that now that you've fixed the leak, the system is up to pressure now.
If it's just on knock when a valve is turned off, it's water hammer.
You should be looking forward to a lower water bill.

Sounds like you pulled real hard to get the 1222B out of the rough-in valve rather than using the Moen tool. Probably pulled a pipe clamp loose and now it rattles when there are sudden pressure changes in the system. To repair, you have to tighten up the loose portion of the valve or pipe.

Was it a TRUE Moen oem cartridge, because it sounds like using the lavatory faucet is causing a pressure imbalance and operating the shower valve's pressure balancing module.
