Is this a "compression" inlet valve?

Hello. Just curious what I'm up against if I remove this. Dies the copper end need to be flared or is it just a compression ring or something that comes with the valve, that goes over it? Thanks

It is compression. Doesn't need to be flared and you can probably reuse the old nut and sleeve.

It's compression, and you can cut the copper back and slide a new one on.
Sometimes you can reuse the nut and sleeve, and sometimes the copper is too long for it to insert fully into the new stop. The inner portion on those is not consistent. That's why we use sleeve pullers and remove the back nut and sleeve and start fresh. Or, you can just cut it back some.
