Jamie's friend Jason Grilli came into town Monday this week to play the Mariniers, Tues and Wednesday.

Monday is an odd day for playing, so Jamie hooked it up in Belltown so Jason could come down on his offday, Monday before the series with the Seattle Mariners. He brought along the Phenom, Gerrit Cole, originally from Southern California. Now Gerrit has a Longstride CD too that he can bump while he's on the road. Towards the end of the evening, Jason Grilli joined Jamie on stage and they both sang "Runnin'" of the Days Like These CD.

Several songs with Longstride at Ohana Belltown

Here is a rap that the drummer Bryan Jones busted out toward the end of the evening.

The next night we went to the Mariners/Pirates game, thanks to Jason Grilli
We saw a lot of home runs by the Pirates. The Mariners lost, and it wasn't close enough for Jason to come in as a closer, so his record still stands at 26 saves which leads the National League by five.

Jason Grillie did a great job pitching this Tuesday, Closing out the final inning in style.

What song gets him up for closing down the other team?
It could be "Ashes" from the band longstride. I think that's the song that he sang with Longstride when they visited Seattle this Summer.
You can hear that on pandora.com or here http://www.amazon.com/Ashes/dp/B00CK3NP1G

Or buy the CD

Whipping by Peal Jam is what he comes out to when he pitches. Also a Seattle band.

Update 10/6/2013
Jason Grilli comes in Sunday to close the game. Pirates 5, Cardinals 3

Live version of "Excuses", by OFUmusic

This is a song that Jason Grilli would play while working out several years ago. The refrain is "No excuses"
Sort of gets you going during your workout. His dad liked that song too.

Not a bit.
I still play sports, so what the pro teams do doesn't have much affect on me. I worry about "my" batting average, and how the snow is when I'm up in the mountains.
I've been thinking about playing some touch football. I don't think 61 is too old for that.
