Gas drip leg outside?

Maybe after 250 years and if you have wet gas. Check with your supplier as most gas today is dry. Drip legs are for dirt to fall into as to not plug orifice in burner so are called a sediment trap.

I've never found water in any gas line or trap. Of course I am in Ohio and not 20 miles away from Alaska, so who knows. LOL

But I doubt they have moisture either. Can you imagine the problems associated with moisture and rust inside black pipe?

Drip legs are not allowed to be installed where subject to freezing. Most places do not require drip legs, nor are sediment
traps necessary with many types of appliances. Only your local code authority knows for sure.
