California Roof Drain Codes

[Dumb Superintendent]

Hey,
Well my inspector from the city of indio failed my plumber on his rough on. He said that I am supposed to have cleanouts on my roof drains. My plummer says he has never heard of that before. Can someone clarify that for me. Thanks

Now he has... Generally the inspectors do know the code.

I have never really heard of that either. The cast iron top of a roof drain can be removed and it can be cleaned from there. But, don't get in an arguement with the inspector about it.

Ask the inspector. It may even be a local amendment.
