Am I going have a problem un-soldering this fitting?

I added a whole filter a few months ago. I installed on a piece of plywood mounted to my garage wall.
I noticed that the treaded fitting is leaking at ball-valve connection on the inlet side.

My concern is that I pre-soldered the fittings and screwed everything together prior to mounting - and now to disassemble I will need to heat the elbow fitting next to the plastic filter housing.

Should I be concerned about melting the plastic? If yes, what can I do (wet rag on pipe or ?)?

On my computer this photo is not upside down - but on the "preview" here it shows upside down. I hope it is correct. Sorry if it is not.

Okay so it is upside down - How do I rotate the picture (is there any code I can insert or such)?

Are there threads where the copper meets the plastic of the filter?

If yes, you're going to sawzall it all off, and sweat new copper again.

This would be dangerous to torch, copper conducts heat fast, plus there's always going to be some water hoarded in the pipes.

It is good practice to use a union on each side of the filter, so it it easy to replace later. All of the clear plastic housing units should be replaced every few years because the plastic degrades over time. The few I have installed state this clearly in the documentation that comes with the unit.
