If its an emergency and water comes out of the new pump at the surface, then you have a solution. Now you have time to get the spec's from the well guy for the correct pump and make possible modifications.

The well depth is not important. It is the water level that determines how much pressure the pump can make at the tank.

If your water level is 100 foot, the pump should be able to make around 50 lbs.
