If you have not already installed this tub, I would simply place it on the subfloor and then build everything else around it. I can't imagine what it would "buy" you to put cement board (material that provides no structural support) underneath - unless you are simply using it as a spacer.

I agree that a single trap will work but it is not that difficult to have a trap for each sink and probably only cost about $2 more. Even then, it should not be a problem connecting both drains to the same old drain.

Okay Terry, that makes sense. Just to make sure my understanding is correct: I can have a two inch sink drain eight feet from the main drain as long as the vent from that drain is no more than five feet from the stack. Is that right?
