    Need help identifying shower cartridge

    I have an olds style single handle Moen shower handle, I took out the cartridge and this is what it looks like. Went to Home Depot and bought a 1225 Moen cartridge and the plastic piece that goes onto the brass rod is too large to fit in the hole where it originally goes. Seems weird the part...
