    Hate to disappoint you coz but the pipe came out. It was pretty rusty though. Would you guys recommend buyng another galvanized pipe to replace this one of just go PVC like the trap? Thanks for all your help

    It's out! About a 3" long piece of galvanized pipe with 1" of thread on each side. Hopefully I can find a piece an inch shorter at the hardware store and call it a day. I'll let you know if it works. Thanks so much for the help, really appreciate it! Tom

    So it looks like I'm going to try to either undo the galvanized pipe that goes into the wall and replace it with a shorter piece or cut it down. Which would you recommend? I'm trying now to undo it with a pipe wrench and some WD-40 and it's not moving....yet.

    Thanks coz! I'll give that a shot in a couple days when I can finally look at a p-trap without getting irritated. So you don't think the stress on the connections is causing the leaks?
